GCSE English and Maths
Bromley Adult Education College has a thriving GCSE department. All students will be required to attend an initial assessment and guidance will be given concerning the level of class needed. All GCSE courses are advertised via the BAEC main programme and this website and take place during the day and evening. All courses commence in September and run for 30 weeks. The course fee includes cost of exam and course book.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Bromley Adult Education College has a large department of ESOL provision.If you want to improve your English, improve your chances of getting a job, gain a qualification, help your children with their homework, increase your confidence or gain the skills needed to talk to friends and neighbours you will be more than welcome. Classes take place in all three main centres: the Widmore Centre in Bromley, Kentwood Centre in Penge and the Poverest Centre in Orpington. You can choose to attend classes in the morning, afternoon or evening. The classes are for permanent UK citizens, residents of other EU countries, asylum seekers and refugees (if eligible). All students will be expected to work towards an appropriate Skills for Life qualification. Language classes range from Pre-entry (for our beginner learners) to Level 2 for our advanced students. We also run writing workshops and a Grammar course for learners on our Level 1 and Level 2 programmes and an ESOL Citizenship course for people at Entry 3 who are preparing to take the Life in the UK test at the Kentwood Centre in Penge.

Adult Numeracy and Adult Literacy
Bromley Adult Education College has a wide range of Adult Numeracy and Adult Literacy classes offered across the Borough. If you need help with improving your writing, spelling, listening and speaking skills and wish to improve your maths for home, study or employment then these classes are for you.
All students are expected to work towards achieving an appropriate Skills for Life Literacy or Numeracy qualification. Classes are offered during the day and evening. You will be able to join all classes at any time during the year.

English as a Foreign Language
If you are from another country and wish to improve your English language skills and/or gain an internationally recognised qualification we have a range of courses at our Kentwood Centre in Penge. These University of Cambridge courses are offered at different levels and will help you achieve a Cambridge certificate, recognised by educational organisations and employers throughout the world.Bromley Adult Education College is an approved Cambridge examination centre.
We can help you prepare for the following Cambridge examinations:
- PET (Preliminary English Test)
- FCE (First Certificate in English)
- CAE (Cambridge Advanced English)
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
In addition we offer Beginners English and Pre-Intermediate English courses, which do not lead directly to an examination but will prepare you towards the next level to achieve your ambitions.
