We offer a range of courses to help you develop:
* skills for independent living
* skills for employment
* skills to improve your confidence and communication
Courses include; Art and Craft, Cookery, Drama, Dance, Personal Progress Entry 1 (ASDAN), Personal and Social Development Entry 1, 2 and 3 (ASDAN).
We still have places available on our Personal Progress and Personal and Social Development courses.

We offer:
- An individual interview before enrolment to identify your support needs and discuss your learning goals whilst at College
- A learning programme, designed to meet your learning needs and personal goals
- Small groups with experienced and supportive staff
- Regular meetings with your tutors to talk about your progress
- Meetings to talk about what happens when you finish your courses
- Meetings with the Principal at learner focus meetings to discuss ideas for improving the College
Enrolment
- Once you have contacted us to say you are interested in doing some of our courses, we will write to you
- You will be invited to come for an interview, and bring a member of your family, key worker, support worker or advocate with you
- At the meeting, you will be asked some questions about your support needs, your interests and other courses you may have done before
- You will then be able to choose your courses and fill out an enrolment form
- If you will be coming to College with your own personal assistant, a further meeting will be arranged to establish how this will fit in with your studies
Course Charges
There is an hourly charge of £2.80 for all of our classes.
You may be entitled to free classes if you get a means tested benefit such as;
- Job Seekers Allowance
- Working Tax Credit
- Housing/Council Tax Benefit (means tested only)
- Income support
- Pension Credit
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) - (income related only)
Please note, this does NOT include Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
When you come to the meeting to discuss your courses, you will need to bring with you current evidence of the benefit you receive (less than three months old), and either your birth certificate or passport.
We will be unable to enrol you without this information, and any payment due for your courses.
Other Charges
- There is a small weekly charge for some classes such as Cookery and Art, to cover the cost of ingredients and materials
- Several classes organise trips out of college. On such occasions, you will be told, in advance of any entrance fees or other charges

Visiting the Poverest Centre
The centre has flat access and automatically opening front entrance doors.
All teaching rooms are fully accessible to wheelchair users and there are 2, fully accessible toilets.
There is a car park outside the building.
